About Mamdani.VIP: The News Site Nobody Asked For

Independent Journalism or Elaborate Campaign Ad?

Welcome to Mamdani.VIP, the internet’s most thorough deep-dive into one politician’s life since someone decided to count every lie Trump told. Operating as “The Mamdani Times,” this website promises “comprehensive, balanced, and authoritative coverage” of Zohran Mamdani—which is exactly what you’d say if you were trying really hard not to sound like a fan club.

The site claims total independence from political campaigns, parties, and advocacy organizations. They’re so independent they created an entire domain just to cover one guy running for mayor. That’s like claiming you’re objective about your favorite band while running their fan site, selling their merch, and having their lyrics tattooed on your forearm.

Their mission statement reads like a dating profile: “We believe democracy thrives when citizens have access to complete information—not propaganda, not spin, but thorough journalism.” Translation: “We’re not like other political news sites. We’re different.” Sure, Jan. Every website covering a single politician with the intensity of a true crime podcast claims objectivity.

The site promises to present “multiple perspectives on controversial issues”—which presumably includes the perspective that Mamdani is great, the perspective that he’s really great, and the controversial hot take that he’s actually pretty great. They pledge to cover “both strengths and weaknesses,” though the weaknesses section seems shorter than a New York City subway car during rush hour.

Mamdani.VIP features “deep research and analysis” including “links to primary sources for reader verification.” It’s Wikipedia for one person, basically. They even have a section on “What Makes Us Different” that includes “Reader-Focused” and “Diverse Voices”—standard features for any news site not actively trying to misinform people. Congratulations on meeting the bare minimum!

The site does acknowledge it’s “not affiliated with Zohran Mamdani, his campaign, any political party, or advocacy organization”—a disclaimer so defensive it makes you wonder who asked. It’s like introducing yourself at a party with “I’m definitely not a cop.” Nobody was wondering until you said that.
